1. AI-assisted creation and human direction
Generative artificial intelligence may be used as a creative tool during brainstorming, drafting, revision, dialogue development, description, testing, or other stages of a Hidden Trail case. Cases may also include human-created concepts, instructions, story structure, factual constraints, selection, arrangement, rewriting, editing, and quality control.
The AI-assistance notice is provided for transparency. It should not be read as a claim that every element produced with AI is copyrightable or exclusively owned.
2. Fictional stories and coincidental resemblance
Hidden Trail cases are works of fiction. Unless a case clearly says otherwise, all characters, names, dialogue, incidents, businesses, organizations, locations, and events are fictional or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to an actual person—living or deceased— real event, organization, location, or character or storyline from another fictional work is unintended and coincidental.
Hidden Trail Games does not claim affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from any person, company, institution, AI provider, or owner of another creative work merely because a name, setting, theme, or incidental similarity appears in a case.
3. Third-party AI services and unpredictable output
The downloadable case files are prompts intended to guide a compatible general-use AI in running a clean, fictional mystery. Hidden Trail Games does not own, operate, or control the third-party AI service selected by a player. Different services, models, settings, updates, user instructions, or conversation histories can produce different results.
An AI service may misunderstand, ignore, alter, or misapply a case prompt. It may generate inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise unintended content. Hidden Trail Games does not endorse such departures and cannot guarantee that an outside AI will always follow the prompt, preserve case facts, maintain the intended rating, or produce a particular result.
Players—and parents or guardians when appropriate—are responsible for choosing an AI service, reviewing its terms and privacy practices, supervising its use, and deciding whether its output is suitable. User modifications, added instructions, misuse, or content generated outside the supplied case prompt are not part of the intended Hidden Trail experience.
4. Entertainment purpose and problem-solving practice
Hidden Trail Mysteries are intended to provide clean G–PG fictional entertainment through observation, questioning, evidence comparison, reasoning, and deduction. Practicing careful thinking and problem solving can be broadly useful, and those habits may transfer to many everyday situations. However, no particular educational, cognitive, academic, professional, therapeutic, investigative, or other outcome is promised or guaranteed.
The cases are games—not professional training, legal advice, medical or mental-health advice, law-enforcement instruction, or a substitute for qualified education or professional services.
5. Personal-use license
Unless written permission states otherwise, each case download is provided for personal, noncommercial play by an individual, family, classroom, or informal group. You may load the file into a compatible AI service for that purpose.
You may not sell, sublicense, republish, publicly distribute, commercially exploit, remove notices from, or falsely claim authorship of Hidden Trail case files, branding, or protectable human-authored and curated elements. Contact Hidden Trail Games for permission before using a case in a product, paid event, public repository, or other commercial offering.
6. Intellectual-property rights and similarity concerns
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Hidden Trail Games reserves its rights in original human-authored text, creative edits, selection, coordination, arrangement, case structure, branding, website design, and other protectable elements. No ownership is claimed over public- domain material, third-party rights, or material that applicable law does not protect.
AI systems can sometimes produce unexpected wording or similarities. If you reasonably believe a specific part of a case infringes your rights or is too similar to identified protected material, please email support@hiddentrailmysteries.comwith the case title, the specific passage or element, the work you believe is affected, and a way to contact you. The concern will be reviewed in good faith, and material may be corrected, replaced, or removed when appropriate.
7. No warranties and limitation of responsibility
Hidden Trail cases and website materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every AI service, or suitable for every player. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hidden Trail Games is not responsible for losses or harm resulting from third-party AI output, service interruptions, user modifications, misuse, reliance on fictional content as real-world advice, or uses outside the intended entertainment purpose.
Nothing on this page waives rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived, excuses actual infringement or unlawful conduct, or limits rights that applicable law gives a consumer.
